This
is the path of the Warlock
...the path of those who protect us against psychic assualt. The Elfin Warlock defends us on the astral planes, creating shields of protection and battling demons that would attack us from those murky depths. The Elfin Warlocks are the magical shield bearers of our people. They deal quite often in spells of protection and where necessary rituals of exorcism. They are the opponents of parasites both psychic and otherwise and commonly deal with the machinations of the more violent and aggressive orders of the Faerie Realms often called the Unseelie. |
But the Elfin Warlocks have another deeper function as well. The word warlock comes from a word that means betrayer or traitor. The Elfin Warlocks often function as our double agents, pretending to betray us while ferreting out the secret intentions of those who would wish us ill and sending to them the disinformation that we wish them to have. Thus, too, the Elfin Warlock will hide among other races appearing to be quite "normal" on the surface and never outwardly revealing their elfin nature. This is indeed a great sacrifice on their part that their love and devotion to our peoples makes worth while. This is in part why we treat all peoples with respect since we never know when one of them may actually be one of us. Of course, in the long run our hope and faith and vision tells us that all such hostile divisions will cease and all peoples... elves and all others will live in peace and harmony, each free to pursue their unique destiny and to fulfill their particular and individual spirit. It is toward that era that we strive in all that we do. In the meantime, we are compelled by necessity to perserve and defend our peoples from those who in ignorance have made themselves our enemies and who refuse the hand of friendship and peace we are so eager to offer. They simply will not have it so and until the day comes when they do the Elfin Warlocks will be ever alert to conteract the malignancy of their envy, hate and ill wishes.Often the Elfin Warlock must punish those who act against us but the purpose of this is not revenge but discipline. It is a lesson taught to those who refuse to learn any other way. The elfin are a gentle folk but we are not pushovers and we are unwilling to bear suffering unnecessarily because of the intransigence of others. Yet the moment the little imps take a step in the right direction, they are rewarded for doing so... for we are kind and generous to those who are our friends and who cooperate with us and firm and strong toward those who insist upon being our fiends.

The
Challenge: the question is?
Do you scare easily? Do you have panic attacks? Does psychic phenomena have you hidden under the bed praying for it to go away? If so, this is surely not the path for you. It is not that the Elfin Warlock never experiences fear, for the truth is they probably encounter it more than most. It is they that must stand fast in the face of the onslaught of the dark spells of fear, doubt, worry and paranoia projected toward the elfin from those wicked forces that seek to bend us to their will and strive always to have us conform to their view of the world.The Elfin Warlock lets all of this wash though and over them and yet they remain steadfast. Can you do that? They are as mirrors projecting back whatever is sent toward us, shielding and protecting us and when they advance upon their chosen path and attain adeptship they begin returning the positive for the negative, transforming wickedness into good. Are you capable of such feats of magic?
