The Flowers

We were in the local health food store where we are most likely to meet other fae when a wee small faerie recognized us as elves and approached us. She was about 5 years old with blond hair hanging to her shoulders and was wearing a white dress with flowers embroidered on the front. She began to ask us about faeries and when, after a bit of discussion on the topic, we opined that she might be a faerie, she said, "But one without wings". And when asked her name, she told us "V-i-o-l-e-t", spelling it out for us. That's when we realized she was a flower faerie.

There are still elemental faeries that tend the flowers. Butterflies and bees and such that share the nectar and spread the pollen, helping to proprogate the flower species. But those who were flower faeries in the third age have long since shed their wings and evolved a human shape. However, their faerie nature, their faerie soul, has not changed in its essence. They still love the flowers, having once been flowers in previous cycles of manifestation before they evolved into faeries and are typically found tending gardens and working in green houses and for garden supply stores. Though we should not fail to mention there are wild flower faeries, too, who delight in seeing "weeds" grow through the cracks in the cement and in ancient ruins covered with vines and vegetation.
