The Path of the Shapeshifter

is the way of the physical transformationist. The Elfin Shapeshifters have the ability to change their form at will. In the most dramatic sense they could turn into a bird or a wolf, etc. but usually their transformations are much more subtle and thus even more illusive. They are ultimate actors, changing their appearance, their posture, their aura in a few brief moments. They can appear to be others , they can appear to be no one at all, utterly unnoticable. In the forest you could not distinguish them from the trees and leaves, in the city they can be so average that they melt into a crowd with ease. They are the needle in the hay stack.

There is also an aspect of metempsychosis to the shapeshifters for they are well aware of having been in animal form in previous lifetimes. This is in part what enables them to assume those forms in these lifetimes. Additionally this awareness gives them the ability to see these qualities in others, recognizing who has been a hawk, a goat, a dog, cat or pig in recent lives. For the effect of those lives is still imprinted on the humannoid form of their current incarnation. So, too, is the Elfin Shapeshifter usually able to tell those beings who have been evolving through and toward their Elfin and otherkin natures. This, of course, gives them greater understanding and effectivity when dealing with others.
This cameleon ability of the Elfin Shapeshifter is not merely a superficial alternation of their physical appearance for as the shapeshifter becomes more and more adept they can transmutate the underlying energy of their being creating changes that affect not only thems'elves but also those who come in contact with them.
As the Elfin Shapeshifter advances in their spiritual being they gain the power of bi-locality, being able to be in two place at the same time. That is their physcial body is in one place while their Body of Light manifests as another physcial body elsewhere.
Yet in very practical sense you can often find the Elfin Shapeshifters making their way in life by working as actors, make up artists, costumers, cosmetologists and related fields. For they not only have the ability to change their appearance but are adept at helping others transform thems'elves as well. In a sense, Pygmalion's Dr. Henry Higgins was a master shapeshifter.

There are even elves who have the power to change their gender. Some races find this fact rather disconcerting but to the elfin it is merely part of the diversity of possibility that life offers. And nearly all elfin are aware of having had both male and female incarnations as well as the fact that we are descended/created by androgynous "gods".

The Challenge: the question is?

If you could look like anything you desired, what would you look like? And why? That is the essential question. Why? Even now we're changing and doint it so subtly that few even notice.
We feel what others feel, not empathy, although we certainly have that, nor sympathy, although our hearts go out to you; but, understanding by being, for however long, another. Vibrating at their exact frequency until we know who they are and as ever, why.

You probably have no idea how much we've transformed ours'elves to be pleasing and attractive to you. And this is not illusion but true transubstatiation. Yet there are some for whom nothing we do will ever be enough, they'll always be cold and uncaring and critical. We could be sad about this but instead we'll wait until they change or perhaps we do again. They think we're one thing but we are quite another.

The Magical Act: what to do.

Change you appearance. Disguise yours'elf so that no one will recognize you. Do this from the inside out. Become a new person.
