Changelings

Usually when people talk about changelings they're really talking about ex-changelings. Which is a bit different. In the fourth age and in the beginnings of the fifth, our peoples were sometimes confronted with enemies so hateful and implacable in their prejudice that there was no way to intermarry with them. They were determined to annihilate us. Our response to those folk was to steal their babies and replace them with our own. A dangerous action since if they discovered the truth they'd throw our babies into their fires. But we were desperate.

Here however, we are not talking about exchangelings but changelings. Those beings who by association with we elfin have been influenced/infected by us and have become ever more elfin in nature. Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings is an example of this phenomena. These days this is a growing happenstance. More and more folks are beginning to develop elfin characteristics and as the 6th root race approaches, this will become increasingly so.
