To be awakened to a new day by the gentle whispering of the wind sounds
like a wonderfully pleasant way to start anew. Quite the opposite
of the ringing, blaring, jogging alarms that arouse most people in
technological societies and which we elves believe to be a major source
of stress and heart attacks. That the wind is whispering also suggests
some message, subtle but real that will guide the elves into the new
day, the dawning of a new time. The wind indicates both communication
and ideas, giving us some hint that this new day also represents an
emergence of a new philosophical outlook.
THE INVOCATION:
I start anew with open mind
My life I do now shape
My destiny is as I will
As I transform my fate
And all that was will be renewed
Better yet and still
Greater magics will I do
Obstructions shrink to nil.

THREE ELVES CHARGE A STATUE THEY HAVE CREATED TO STAND AS GUARDIAN
OVER A MAGIC BOWER.
ESSENCE: EVOKING SPIRIT.
In the animistic world view, everything that lives has soul and spirit.
Those things that are biological have individual spirit, but those
things that are artificial are capable of housing spirit. This is,
of course, the idea behind shrines, churches, temples etc. as the
houses of the Divine. A statue is a created thing, an artificial object,
and is thus a receptive vessel for what energy is put into it, either
intentionally, as in the case of this dream image, or accidently as
in the case of a house that becomes haunted due to violence or trauma
that has occurred there. Every place eventually takes on the atmosphere
of the emotional and psychological events it has experienced. In this
image three elves, three being a sacred number that first breaks up
and steps beyond the basic polarity, intentionally charge a statue,
giving it a living force so that it will act as a guardian. In just
such a way are churches, etc, consecrated to the particular Deity
of its devotees. In this instance a spirit is being created or, more
precisely bidden to dwell within the statue. The statue becoming the
home of the spirit or “charge” as the church is for the
Deity.
THE CHARGE:
Draw the sigil of the spirit you are instilling into a place, statue
etc. and recite the following;
I charge you to abide here
Within this sacred place
That your magic you may spread
By this sigil that I trace.
The energies I have instilled
Will manifest, be real
And all who pass will empowered be
By the magic that they feel.
