"Some
folks speak of midnight as the Witching Hour.
We elves speak of the Enchanting Time,
Which is when our beloved kindred arrive."
The Silver Elves
This

Thank
you dear Merlyn so very much for your comments on Amazon about our
book:
Once again a masterpiece by The Silver Elves---I have all 34
plus books of theirs, and this is one of their best. It is filled
with the enchantments of the truest and greatest magick of the elves.
I find I am using these charms and enchantments every day, which helps
me in their ancient teachings in our world today."
And
thank you, dear Reikibevon, for your wonderful review of our book
on Amazon:
"I have just finished reading this book and found it a source
of true delight. Even though the book is pragmatic and educational,
the wit of the Silver Elves comes through in such a way as to lead
you into a state of true enchantment. A large part of the book is
devoted to the four keys of Elfin Enchantment, and an original explanation
of the seven chakras, helping you to understand where you are on your
path of spiritual development.
It is also a treatise on psychological development, aiding you in
the understanding of your own Self.
I loved the chapter on the Ganconer near the end, for I have known
two of them in the last couple of decades. They both added a new depth
of magic to my life.
I highly recommend this book to seekers of knowledge of the Elfin
tradition."

INTRODUCTION:
ENCHANTMENT, THE MAGIC OF THE ELVES
[Excerpt From page 1]
"As Tolkien points out in his scholarly treatise On Fairy-Stories,
enchantment is the principal magic of Faerie and thus, we may assume,
of the Elves. He goes on to distinguish this magic of Faerie, the
magic of Enchantment, from the manipulative earnestness and laborious
efforts that seem to reflect the Ceremonial forms of Traditional
Western Magic, which is perhaps best illustrated by the works of
Aleister Crowley. Enchantment, as Tolkien tells us, is not the grunting,
groaning, demanding magick of compulsion and a struggle for Mastery
over the lower elements and elementals; it is not the magic of assuming
the role of oneself being on the level of a god; but is something
quite different, although, that difference is never quite made clear.
He tells us what it is not but doesnt go far in telling us
what it is. It is our intention in this book to clarify what that
difference is, what makes Enchantment its own special, and elven
(although is it not exclusively elves that perform enchantments;
it is a magic, as we will see, utilized by almost every culture)
form of magic and how you may obtain Mastery through the power of
enchantment."
[Excerpt From page 9-10]
"Elven magic is not the magic of power over: power over others
or power over Nature and our environment, or even power over spirits,
which does not preclude us dealing with spirits (see our book An
Elven Book of Spirits) it merely influences the way we interact
with them. Enchantment does not seek to dominate by force. Rather,
enchantment, as its name suggests, seeks to entice, lure, delight,
inspire and evoke the willing and even, hopefully, eager participation
and consent of the enchanted. We dont make spirits an offer
they cant refuse, but rather offer spirits what they dont
wish to refuse."
"Some might argue, and we would surely be open to listening
to their reasoning, that one shouldnt seek to define enchantment;
that Tolkien left the magic of the elves relatively, almost entirely,
undefined and we should do so as well; that Faerie and its magics
are powerful, in part, because they are misty and undefined; that
defining them will, in some way, diminish Faeries magic and
allure (although these elves dont think that is actually possible).
However, these elves are here for the purpose of and have dedicated
ourselves to manifesting Elfin on Earth. That is why the subtitle
of this book is: Mastery of the Faerie Light through the Portals
of Manifestation. We are here to make Elfin real and particularly
to help our kindred do so as well."
"It may be true that there are aspects of enchantment that
are essentially mystical and individual by nature and cannot be
revealed here or elsewhere and we wouldnt argue with the fact
that this is so. And surely Faerie is so vast that no one of us
or even group can wholly know and experience all of its wonders.
That would be like going to Broadway in New York and thinking one
has experienced all there is of that city. Even those who have lived
there for years or even all their lives surely have not experienced
it all. In just this way, those aspects of elven enchantment that
can only be realized through personal experience with Faerie will
remain hidden until the individual discovers them. They simply cannot
be revealed by any one to another and have that other understand,
and these revelations can only be discovered by the individual aspirant
and seeker/explorer of the realms of Faerie hir (his or her) own
self."
"There is no danger therefore of us, or anyone else, revealing
what cannot be revealed. By definition, that cannot be done. But
of those things that can be spoken and written and that would be
of help to our kindred, we eagerly share."
