The High Mountain Elves are often associated with the goats. For they both share a love of and ability to climb. Additionally, while they are vegetarians, as are most elfin, they none the less will eat nearly anything edible and some things that others would not consider to be so. The High Mountain Elves are also great skiers. Those two, mountain climbing and skiing being among their favorite pasttimes.

While they are quite social and friendly, like most other elves, they tend to live in small family dwellings scattered about the mountains. Yet in times of need they gather together as one family to deal with any and all emergencies.

However, like all things we write about various elfin, we are speaking in generalities. The varieties of elfin and faerie life being so vast that a book could be written on under each of these headings. Thus there are also Mountain Elves who live in large groups in places normal folk would consider monastaries, who pursue the spiritual life together and who engage in mediation and rituals of magic to heal and help the world and its populous evolve toward a greater understanding of thems'elves and nature.
